1977-78, from an antique land, part 2.

My work has most always had an interior purpose, not so much how to represent the world, but how to show to myself the growth of my life in the world.
So, next I tried to represent what has always been my chief interior preoccupation:
the fusion of the phallus and the heart in my body and in my life.
I tried to paint that fusion as I experienced it
in what in the Monroe System is called Focus 12.

Then I made these images of a journey on a very high mountain to the nest of the Arabian Nights Roc.
That’s all I could call it.  It did not have nor would ever have a name.
