From Studio Notes, February 2006

◄  #2, February 2006. After Poussin: Et in Arcadia Ego
February 7, 2006. Oakland.
Late night.
Begin #2, February 2006.
Do it now, undesirable though it may be.
It's not the one you want but the one you get.
And, so far, it's the sunset in the balls.

February 8, 2006. Oakland.
Sunset.
Clear day, late sun hardly reddened by near the horizon,
plum blossoms…
Painting, painting, painting to release the pressure
that is always there… if only I could learn to draw (paint).

February 9, 2006. Oakland.
Night.
For #2, February the title is TOMB.
(It’s the tomb of my balls. After all, that's what they all say male old age is.)

February 12, 2006. Oakland.
Morning.
Two concepts for painting--
1. The golden sun streaked with blood and marked with shadow.
2. Concept: Leviathan groaning, twisting, dying in the depths.
